Consortium of National Law Universities ने CLAT 2026 Counselling Process शुरू कर दी है। First Allotment List 7 जनवरी 2026 को जारी हो चुकी है। Counselling 5 Rounds में होगी जो मई 2026 तक चलेगी। 26 NLUs में BA LLB और LLM Programs में Admission के लिए यह Process Conduct की जा रही है।
CLAT 2026 Exam 7 दिसंबर 2025 को Successfully Conduct हुई थी। Result भी Declare हो चुका है। अब Qualified Candidates official Consortium website पर Counselling Registration कर सकते हैं और अपनी NLU Preferences Fill कर सकते हैं।
CLAT 2026 Counselling Important Dates
Consortium ने Complete Counselling Schedule जारी कर दिया है। First Allotment List 7 जनवरी 2026 को Release हुई। Candidates जिन्हें First Round में Seat Allot हुई है, वे 7 से 15 जनवरी 2026 तक Confirmation Fee Pay कर सकते हैं।
Second Round Allotment List जनवरी के आखिरी हफ्ते में आएगी। Third Round फरवरी में, Fourth Round मार्च में और Fifth Round अप्रैल-मई 2026 में होगी। हर Round के बाद Candidates को Freeze, Float या Exit Option Choose करना होता है।
Counselling Registration Dates
CLAT 2026 Counselling Registration दिसंबर 2025 में शुरू हो चुकी थी। Candidates को Registration करते समय Counselling Fee Pay करनी होती है। NLU Preference List भी Fill करनी होती है। Candidates Maximum 26 NLUs की Preference दे सकते हैं।
Counselling Fee Structure
CLAT 2026 Counselling Fee Category के अनुसार अलग-अलग है। General और OBC Candidates के लिए Counselling Fee ₹50,000 है। SC और ST Candidates के लिए Fee ₹25,000 है। यह Fee Refundable है अगर Candidate को कोई Seat Allot नहीं होती।
अगर Candidate को Seat Allot होती है और वह Accept करता है तो यह Fee Admission Fee में Adjust हो जाती है। अगर Candidate Seat Accept नहीं करता या Withdraw करता है तो Fee Deduction के बाद Refund होती है।
Seat Allotment Process
CLAT Seat Allotment Candidates की Rank, Category और NLU Preference के आधार पर होती है। हर NLU की अपनी Seat Matrix होती है। General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD Categories के लिए Reservation होता है।
First Round में Top Rank वाले Candidates को उनकी First Preference के अनुसार Seat Allot होती है। अगर First Preference में Seat Available नहीं है तो Second Preference Check की जाती है। इसी तरह सभी Preferences Check होती हैं।
Category-wise Seat Reservation
हर NLU में Seats का Distribution अलग-अलग होता है। Generally 50% Seats General Category के लिए, 27% OBC के लिए, 15% SC के लिए, 7.5% ST के लिए और 10% EWS के लिए Reserved होती हैं। 5% Seats PwD Candidates के लिए Horizontal Reservation होता है।
कुछ NLUs में State Domicile Quota भी होता है। जैसे NLSIU Bangalore में Karnataka Domicile के लिए Seats Reserved हैं। NLIU Bhopal में MP Domicile के लिए Quota है। Candidates को अपनी Category और Domicile के अनुसार Seat Allotment होती है।
Freeze, Float और Exit Options
Seat Allot होने के बाद Candidates को तीन Options मिलते हैं – Freeze, Float और Exit। Freeze Option Select करने का मतलब है कि Candidate उस Seat को Accept करता है और आगे की Counselling Rounds में Participate नहीं करेगा।
Float Option Select करने का मतलब है कि Candidate Current Seat को Hold करता है लेकिन अगली Rounds में Better NLU मिलने की उम्मीद में Participate करता रहेगा। Exit Option Select करने का मतलब है कि Candidate Seat को Reject करता है और Counselling से बाहर हो जाता है।
Document Verification Process
Seat Accept करने के बाद Document Verification होता है। Candidates को अपने Original Documents Submit करने होते हैं। Class 10th और 12th की Marksheets, CLAT Admit Card, CLAT Scorecard, Category Certificate (अगर Applicable हो), Domicile Certificate (अगर Required हो) जैसे Documents चाहिए।
PwD Candidates को Disability Certificate भी Submit करना होता है। EWS Candidates को Income Certificate चाहिए। सभी Documents Attested होने चाहिए। Document Verification Online या Offline Mode में हो सकता है।
Admission Fee Payment
Document Verification Complete होने के बाद Admission Fee Pay करनी होती है। हर NLU की Admission Fee अलग-अलग होती है। Generally ₹1.5 लाख से ₹3 लाख तक First Year Fee होती है। इसमें Tuition Fee, Hostel Fee, Mess Fee सब Include होता है।
Counselling Fee जो पहले Pay की थी, वह Admission Fee में Adjust हो जाती है। Remaining Amount Pay करनी होती है। Fee Payment Online Mode में की जा सकती है। Fee Payment Complete होने के बाद ही Admission Confirm होता है। जो Students CUET UG 2026 के लिए भी Apply कर रहे हैं, उन्हें दोनों Counselling Schedules ध्यान में रखने चाहिए।
Top NLUs और Cutoff Trends
CLAT में Top NLUs में Admission के लिए बहुत High Rank चाहिए। NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, NLIU Bhopal, NLU Delhi, WBNUJS Kolkata Top 5 NLUs में आते हैं। इन NLUs में General Category के लिए Top 100-200 Rank चाहिए।
NLU Jodhpur, GNLU Gandhinagar, HNLU Raipur, RMLNLU Lucknow जैसे NLUs में Top 500-1000 Rank से Admission मिल जाता है। Newer NLUs में Cutoff Comparatively कम होती है। Category-wise Cutoff भी अलग-अलग होती है।
Course Duration और Curriculum
BA LLB Integrated Course 5 Years का होता है। इसमें Arts Subjects के साथ Law Subjects पढ़ाए जाते हैं। Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Property Law, Family Law जैसे Core Subjects होते हैं। Moot Courts, Internships और Research Projects भी होते हैं।
LLM Course 1 Year का होता है जो Specialization के लिए होता है। Corporate Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, International Law जैसे Specializations Available होते हैं। LLM के लिए Separate CLAT PG Exam होती है।
Hostel और Campus Facilities
सभी NLUs Residential Campuses हैं। Hostel Accommodation Mandatory है। Boys और Girls के लिए Separate Hostels होते हैं। Hostel में Mess Facility होती है। Library, Computer Lab, Sports Facilities, Gym सब Available होते हैं।
NLUs में Academic Environment बहुत अच्छा होता है। Experienced Faculty Members होते हैं। Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops Regular होते हैं। Moot Court Competitions में Participate करने के Opportunities मिलते हैं।
Placement और Career Opportunities
Top NLUs से Placement बहुत अच्छी होती है। Top Law Firms, Corporate Companies, Banks, Consulting Firms Campus Placement के लिए आती हैं। Starting Salary Package ₹10-15 लाख per annum होता है। Top Students को ₹20-25 लाख तक Package मिलता है।
Litigation, Corporate Law, Judiciary, Civil Services, Legal Consultancy जैसे Career Options होते हैं। कुछ Students Higher Studies के लिए Foreign Universities भी जाते हैं। LLM, PhD या Judicial Services की तैयारी भी कर सकते हैं।

Counselling में Participate करते समय NLU Preferences Carefully Choose करें। अपनी Rank और Previous Year Cutoffs देखकर Realistic Preferences दें। सभी 26 NLUs की Preferences Fill करें ताकि Seat मिलने के Chances बढ़ें।
